About us
The Eco Team meet regularly every other week to think of ways to care for the environment and the world around us. We discuss initiatives to improve the environmental profile of our school. Pupils in the Eco Team are passionate about ways in which they can make a difference. The Eco Team continues to help us to maintain our Eco-Schools Silver Flag Award and we are aiming to get a Green Flag Award. We are very proud of our work within school and the local community that has helped us to develop our Eco-Schools team. We continue to promote an Eco-Friendly school through our focus on litter, waste and the development of the school grounds, as well as continuing to advocate for an environmentally conscious wider community.
Two pupils from each class are on the Eco Team. They can be easily identified as they will be wearing a green Eco Team badge. If you have any suggestions or comments about ways to care for the environment at our school speak to the team member in your class or to Mrs Bootle.
Friday 5th November 2021 (COP 26)
On Friday 5th November, we had the pleasure to represent our school as climate change activists at a lunchtime demonstration alongside other local Harpenden secondary and primary schools on the high street. It was great to see so much support from the wider community join in and ask the children questions about how they feel towards their planet and the current crisis.
Walk to School Week 19th May 2023. The Eco Group have been busy encouraging everyone to walk/scoot or cycle to school this week and or to park a little further away if they need to drive. They have told everyone that walking to school is: · Healthy for our bodies · Healthy for our minds · Healthy for our relationships · Healthy for the environment We hope to see as many children as possible walking, scooting or cycling to school next week!
